This looks a bit good; any users here?

just tried it. Looks great to me. I was using OE before and have
already rejected Xnews and Dialog. But this looks cool. Nice easy to
use interface and faster than OE. The highlight feature is what I
needed the most as I used OE just because of that.
Thumbs up from me

BIG thumbs up from me as well. I never thought that I'd switch from
xnews, but this app is hands down way better. I really find some great
apps on this newsgroup. Thanks all!

Best bet's news.software.readers. It's a great bunch, it's specfic to
news clients, and some of them do use Xananews, judging from the traffic
there. Pick it up -- whatever your news client, it's a good group.

I lurk there a lot but it is mostly Dialog and Xnews so I thought to
try here for XanaNews feedback.
I got a good thread here a while back on Power-Grab so I was vaguely
hoping for a repeat performance.
Apparently not :)

BTW, There are busy XanaNews support newsgroups available on the
forums.talkto.net server. There's also
alt.usenet.offline-reader.xananews but no one seems to post there.

Sorry for my English

There's two groups for Xananews users at this usenet server
forums.talkto.net (xananews.support and xananews.wishlist) I'm trying
Xananews too and I like it.

Colin,
How do I clear all messages so I can start fresh. I just downloaded your
program.
Best,

I mentioned it because it's the only place I've seen Xananews discussed
even momentarily. :)

Which, in a group of newsclient-heads, probably *is* the answer to your
questions... :)

What highlight feature ? Are you talking about :

"Threads that contain messages to you are displayed highlighted." ?

You can do that in the Dialog newsreader.

I have never had a useful answer from nsr. Thus said, Xananews is great and
its approach stands between XNews and Dialog.

Hi colin,
I want that on single click or double click on any of the newsgroup on
the left hand side, it should do a Quick get messages rather than get
messages (I dont like it asking me again and again which messages to
fetch) ...
How can I do that

Sanjay

How can I do that

Select the newsgroup and type "G", it then uses the method defined in
Options/Defaults.

Hope, this helps

Just looked at it again. Much better than last time I looked at it.
Good for the "point and click" brigade.

Most tasks can be accomplished using the kb.
Nowhere near as powerful as something like Dialog but has some nice
ideas. The lack of a comprehensive help file will probably discourage
some users.

It appears to me to be simple enough not to need much of a help file.
And it has its own support newsgroup
Graphics seem to appear their full size. Perhaps I missed a way to
change that ? Very annoying IMO. With eg. Dialog the graphic sizes
to the size of the available pane.

Dunno... I've only been using it for text and am quite impressed with
its speed and efficiency
