x2250 - keep or junk it?

I was given a Lexmark 2250x all in one printer with bad power supply.
I could probably get a replacement power supply for under $10 on eBay
plus shipping but is it worth it?

A new all in one's are around $75 for cheaper models. Normally I
don't want an all-in-one models since if something goes wrong with one
thing, the whole thing becomes a giant paper weight. But it'd be for
my parents who don't do much printing and would probably use the
scanner part mostly for archiving older photos.

I say fix it yourself or junk it. Someone mentioned a price of $55 on
Epinions for this model.
How do you know it has a bad power supply? If the power supply is
internal they usually have a fuse that might be the problem, often
soldered in place. A cheap power diode is another likely failure mode,
easy to unsolder and check with a meter. If you can't do something
cheap and easy, move on.
