"X"s only instead of pictures

In some websites only X's are showing instead of
pictures. What seems to be the problem? I am allowing
pictures to download, but all I see is a red 'x'. This
never happened to me before, I don't recall changing any
setting.

Bluebirdfrome,

It is said that one would do well to clear all temporary internet files from
time to time as a solution for that. It is also assumed that the image is
one that is supported by IE. Also make sure the Show Pictures check box is
selected on the Advanced tab of the Internet Options dialog box.
