I double-click on this file WUAU22.MSI which I download
from Microsoft site,in a windows XP machine and I
got an error stating that I need a win2000 sp2 or winXP.
What do I need to do to fix that problem?

Frantz:

If your clients are running Win2K SP3 or Windows XP SP1
the client piece comes bundeled with those support packs
and is already installed.

Check the version of your WUAUENG.DLL as outlined in the
Microsoft doc below. If WUAUENG.DLL is version
5.4.3630.11 or higher - it is already installed and you
don't have to run the WUAU22.MSI.

IMHO The error message you are getting is confusing and
should read something like "Windows Auto Update ALREADY
installed".

"To confirm that the Updated Automatic Updates installed
successfully
In the Run dialog box, type: %windir%\system32\
Right-click Wuaueng.dll, and then click Properties.
On the Version tab, confirm that the version number is
5.4.3630.11 or higher."
