wtf did my kb go?

after installing sp-2, windows xp-pro no longer recognizes my keyboard.
a natural elite.
the keyboard functions untill xp starts up.
at first, it would freeze up as a conflict with the mouse, but then it just
stopped working. the device mgr says the drivers are loaded, but there is no
keyboard to be found, (error 41).
no matter what kb is plugged in. on screen kb functions, but, it'a PITA to
use !
what happened? can you help me?

OK, I give up, if you don't have a functioning keyboard, HTF did you manage
to post? ;o) And it's a damned stupid idea to broadcast your phone number on
Usenet.

i don't think SP2 did it, think it might have just timed that way....

i put my money on a dead port.

and i agree, real bad idea to post your phone number in a forum.

I had this happen to my personal system. The way I was able to solve this
was to reset my BIOS and to re-configure it. I was then able to use my
keyboard and mouse.

as posted, on screen kb. (PITA!) !

2.) my phone is the only way i can get & do instructions & rely comp's
actions. so i don't have to repeat he obvious (see 1.).

3.) how does one reset - reconfig bios?
