WS_FTP95 suddenly failing.

I run XP Pro, and for the last year or so have successfully used
WS_FTP95 to work on several
websites for which I'm responsible. Suddenly, using the same login
information I've used for all that time, I cannot get in to two of the
sites. I CAN get in to two others I work on.
Attempts to get in to one of the problematic sites gains this error
message:
PASS (hidden)
530 Login authentication failed
!Login failure, so quitting

The same probem presents on my desktop and laptop machines.

I'll certainly appreciate any advice on this.

It doesn't sound like a Windows problem, and since it's on more than one
machine is certainly not related to a specific install of Windows. And it
likely isn't a problem on your systems, but rather at the host.

It looks like the FTP server is rejecting your username and password now,
and the reason for that is seldom local, aside from things like mis-types
and caps locks.

It could be that someone else logged in, "updated" the password, and
neglected to mention it to you. Or, your FTP account has been disabled.

Try using the command-line FTP client, or any other FTP client to connect
and manually enter the login information. If you can get in that way,
refresh the password in ws_ftp.

If you can't get in, you may very well need to contact the ISP or site host
to reset your login info, and only they can help you with that.

Looking at google results for this error, I see that sometimes this appears
because the host has chosen to automatically disable FTP accounts that
aren't used for a period of time, like 90 days. They can turn them on
again, but you have to contact them to do so.
