Wrong keyboard buttons

Hi, i recently got my laptop, and when i come to press the at sign for the
email it comes up as " and when i press the " it comes up as @, i need to
change this around please but i dont know how, i have been in the kayboard on
my control panal and there isn't an option to change the language, i think
the language is american but i need to change it back please help me

You have the wrong keyboard/language set.
I would guess you are in the UK with a UK keyboard layout and using US
language settings
to change goto control panel - regional and language options - on the
Languages tab click details. click the add button and select english UK and
keyboard United Kingdom. then delete the US (it wont be able to do this
until it reboots) this will leave with only the correct language and
keyboard.
