Hello there, can someone help me. My system is Microsoft Windows Home
edition, SP1. I added a new HD as slave in primary IDE and when I boot the
disk it is not recognized by the system. If I restart the system the disk
is present and works normally. During start up the master is identify as
UDMA5, DRAM type: DDR SDRAM, the slave as UDMA5, SPD ON Module: YES
Being both units identical I do not know why this indication is shown in
this HD. I believe this Series Detect Presence is applied to EEPROM's
configuration.
How can I fix this?
Thank you!

Both drives are UDMA5, so they are the same. You cannot fix anything in the
bios of your machine because nothing is wrong, your confusing the 2 columns
that show your basic setup in the bios during the boot. Read the
information in the box top to bottom on the left and then top to bottom on
the right.
Have you partitioned and formatted the added drive? If not right click on
My Computer, select Manage, under Storage, find Disk Management. Right
click on your new hard drive and you'll find the tools.
