Wrong hard drive size

Guest

I recently purchased 2 new Maxor 250 GB hard drives to install into our
windows 2000 advanced server. The bios shows that the drives are 250 GB but
when ever windows boots it states that the drives have a total capacity of
128 GB.

I was wondering if any of you would know why the OS is showing the wrong
hard drive size and what I can do to fix it.

The system is a Dell Poweredge server
OS: Windows 2000 Advanced Server SP4
Drives: Maxor 250 GB

I have tried the EnableBiglba registry update but it didn't have any effect.

Thanks

This may be a limitation of your controller and or controller driver.

Reapply SP4.
Use registry editor to make sure EnableBigLBA is set to 1.

Just wanted to say thanks for the help.
I was eventually able to fix the issue by going to the maxtor website and
downloading a file called "Enable_Big_Drives.exe". The site said that it
made some reg updates to allow big drives, but didn't state which updates it
made. Whatever it changed made the difference and the server is now able to
use the full size of the drive.

Thanks
