Writing .iso (image) file to hard drive

Nero has an option to write / burn an .iso (image) file to a CD or DVD. Is
there any way to write this to the hard drive first? I'd like to add some
items to the collection before burning the CD.

Thanks for any help.

You can't write it to a hard drive, it's a CD image. There are utilities
that let you edit ISO's though.

But you can copy it to a hard drive if you have the tools to work on it.
Otherwise not much point in copying it unless you're making a duplicate CD.

You've gotten good responses about programs that allow you to 'edit' ISO
images.

ISO PowerToy allows you to create/burn CD ISOs without NERO or other
programs.

Nero (if you read their instructions/help topics) can burn to a 'virtual
drive', thus making an ISO or NRG file.

However - NERO cannot edit said ISO - that is detailed in the other
reponses.
