WPA Not Available

I am trying to get WPA encryption working for my SMC
wireless g card/router. I am having trouble installing the
Q815485 patch for adding WPA capability to Windows XP Pro
Ed. I have tried isntalling both the independent patch
download, as well as the Windows Update patch (both are the
same, I assume). The patch appears to install normally,
but in Add/Remove Programs, there is no listing for the
installed patch.
In the properties for the access point, which is seen just
fine, there is no option under "Data encryption" to select
WPA (just WEP and Disable).

The router and card work fine with no encryption. Anyone
know of a fix for it?

Hi,
It seems you may need to upgrade the firmware in Access Point in order for
it to support WPA.
