Dear All,

I'm thinking of changing the sharing/security properties of the "All Users"
to stop programs installing there shortcuts in there, as I'm running a small
domain setup, and when I install software I would like the install to only
shortcut into the current user?

Is this the right way of going about it? I'm asking this, as I don't know if
windows try's to install a shortcut in the "All Users", and it can't, will
it install in the current user logged on, or is it mainly installation
program specific?

Or can anybody offer an alternative solution to my problem?

Regards
Paul.

just a tip: whena domain user installs software, its installed on the
local machine.. there for everybody to see and use, the config and
profiles are stored in the users account along with the shortcuts.

generally in a domain only an administrator has rights to install
software.

Yeah, that I apprecaite, and I'm the admin installing software, but there
are users that I don't want access to the items, and certain programs
install with "All Users" so when the *other* user logs on, it is being
displayed in the Start Menu, I wanted to get around the hassle of checking
"All User" every time I install something...
