Would like feed back on idea before starting development

Hi,
I would like to develop an MS Access database that will be on a shared drive
on a LAN. The database will be like a wiki, a document control application,
and a data storage for various purposes. If you are familiar with Lotus
Notes, you know what I want.
I have experience developing MS Access Databases, and I am guessing this can
be done using OLE for MS Word, MS Excel etc. I have no experience with Lotus
Notes Scripting, and no one in my organization currently has Lotus Notes
anyway, so using Lotus Notes is not a good option.
If anyone can suggest whether or not attempting this is advisable or even
doable, and can give hints on how to go about implementing it etc, I would be
very greatful.

For a wiki or a document library you might want to check out SharePoint.
