Worth overclocking memory?

I've got some Kingmax PC2700 which will run at 200MHz but not stably. It'll
do 190 easy tho. Think it's worth running at that speed even tho it runs AGP
and PCI out of spec? I don't need to overclock the FSB in order to run my
XP1700+ at ~2GHz cuz the multipliers are all availbale up to 12.5x on the
Biostar M7NCG.

Well... the faster you can run your memory, the better. However, as soon as
you have to relax timings, you;ve taken a step back and will require a good
few more MHZ to make that up again. It's swings and roundabouts really.

It's usually most optimal and stable to run the FSB and memory in synch,
especially on an nForce2 motherboard. Since it IS an nForce2 motherboard,
you should be able to fix the AGP and PCI buses to the spec frequency.

I put it back to 166 and lowered timing to 5,2,2,2....so far running Prime95
at default v, hot room.
Not bad for $30 RAM, now $47 at newegg...but I'm not gloating...hehe

But didn't he set England (and all of Europe) on the road to 3rd world
status? I would use any quote of his for TP.

Screw history.
Sounds like no one knows shit about overclocking memory.
LOL!

You've shown that overclocking in your case won't provide any
significant improvement but only give you empty bragging rights.

Too late, fatty. You should have sided with your German cousins.

He talked a good talk
It was all about money.
Money won. People lost.
The same people are in power today that were in power then.
(Or their beneficiaries.)

Politics is to separate fools from their money.
Are you Ananarchist? Libertarian, Communist, Republican, Democrat, or Independent.
More politics..
Capitalism is an economic system. It puts a dollar value on Human life.
Socialism is an economic system. It doesn't need to do that.
