worm problems

I seem to have got rid of the Welchia worm I had after
following instructions from the Norton Antivirus website
but cannot reconnect to WINS Client. Has anyone else
had this problem? Is it necessary to reconnect and if so
how? All help gratefully received. Am a complete novice
on the technical side of computers!

One of the things you can try after removing the worm is pop your XP
installation disc into the cd drive, click on start, run, and type in sfc
/scannow. This should replace any missing system files with the original
versions.
