Workstation a member of an Active Directory Domain AND a Novell NDS directory?

Anyone know if this is possible or not? I'm trying to find a way to leverage
some of A/D's strengths and features while still letting NDS rule the nest.

Specifically, I'd like our Cisco Unity IP phone system to be able to access
user data via Active Directory, and be able to use the "Offer Remote
Assistance" feature.

yes, this is possible - Novell client (their GINA) allows You to make
logon to NDS context and AD domain at the same time.
