Worksheet NOT updating

I removed a group of numbers from a series of columns which were summed into
totals. The removal didn't cause the totals to change. I don't know why it
is not updating or refreshing to new results. Anyone have a suggestion?

One guess .. The calc mode could have been
inadvertently set to Manual.

Try one quick check, press F9.
Does it now compute ?

To check / change the calc mode:
Click Tools > Options > Calculation tab
Check "Automatic" > OK

How about when the calculation is set to automatic, and the worksheet does
not update. This happens infrequently, and CTRL + ALT + F9 is required. Any
better solution?
