Worksheet Function to Insert a number or letter

Is there a function to insert a number or letter in front
of another group of numbers. For example I want to insert
the number "1" in front of "FMZU73K53UC68410" which is in
an existing cell so that the result will
be "1FMZU73K53UC68410"

You can use a help column, assume the data starts in A1, then use a formula

=1&A1

copy down, do edit>paste special as values in place, if necessary copy the
new over the old values
