Workgroups in Network Neighborhood

Hello -

This is likely a WINS issue and not really DNS, but I'm not 100% sure so....

From time to time we have workgroups that will appear in our network
neighborhood browse list (no doubt from users or other admins adding their
computers to workgroups).. so my question is, is there a policy that will
block the ability for these workgroups to appear in the browse list? I want
people to still be able to create workgroups (if they need to), but I don't
want our users to see these workgroups when they are browsing network
neighborhood.

Thanks!

Yes -- there is a Browser setting that defeats the exchange of
such lists - in NT it was on the NIC properties/browser service

Disable netbios over TCP/IP. These workgroups/domains "appear" as a result
of computers registering group netbios names in network.
