Greetings. Our computers are networked (peer to peer) and I created a
program for us to monitor our admissions but the problem is if all of us are
using the progam simultaneously we cant's make changes on ourselves (a
dialogue box shows something like "this file is being used and you don't
have exclusive access"), only the user where the file is located can make
changes.
Anybody, please email me the step by step procedure to do this task. Thanks
in anvance.

Hi Rich,

Is it that you are trying to make design changes or data
changes?

I suspect design changes, in which case you will not be
able to do this in versions of Access after 97 as the
ability is no longer available - because of changes in the
file structure of databases.

You can either split the database into front end/back end
and give each user a copy of the front end that they can
modify (of course, only they will see the changes), or you
can only have one person modify the database design.

generally design changes should not be done once the
application is in production.
