We have a laptop PC that goes to school with a family
member for a few hours each day, but spends the bulk of
its time at home. The school has a server-based "domain"
network. Our home has a peer-to-peer "workgroup"
network. We need the machine to be fully functional
(i.e., access the internet, use the network printers,
share files, etc.) in both environments, but we're being
told that "it can't be done."
In this day and age of telecommuting and virtual offices,
being able to use a lap-top PC in multiple environments
can't be that unusual, so I suspect that many others
before us have faced this problem and solved it.
How can our PC be configured so that it's easily
switchable between the school's "domain" and our
home "workgroup"?
