workgroup to domain issue

i have a workgroup of 36 pcs on the network some have very important information like outlook messages and company files... there arent any advanced users i want to put every1 in a domain without them noticing any change and not having to search for files in there pc... or lose any settings in there programs... can sum1 help... thank you
