Workgroup Connection prompts for password

I recently upgraded from windows 2000 pro to xp pro. I
used to have my network setup so that when another
computer wanted something on my computer they had to
enter a username and password. I want to remove that
feature so that the files are readily accessible to the
whole network...please advise

I have check the "Use simple file sharing (recommended)"
but it still prompt me for username and password...
I want to let another user in the workgroup to get access to these pc

Did you follow all 4 of the steps that I listed? You might also need
to reboot both computers.
