I want to set up a home network. I have a desktop with XP Pro, laptop with XP
Home, and desktop with Linux. All are connected through a wired/wireless
router, which also shares a DSL modem.
1. WinXP help suggests that the DSL should be owned by one PC, that my
configuration is 'not recommended'. I don't want to have machines on only for
connection sharing. Do I need to change my DSL setup?
2. I want the ability to share files between all machines, and use the Linux
mostly for backups. Do I need to run Samba and set up the box as a server?
Will the Network Connection Wizard in XP help with this at all?
Thanks in advance - been too many years since I set up Netware networks....
