Worked great in B2 TR, not in RTM...

Hi

When inserting an eps image into PowerPoint 2007 Beta - Technical Refresh,
it was possible to add various text effects such as shadow, reflection etc
and I got some truly stunning results!

However, doing the same in the final version simply leads to instant
pixelation and blury images!!

:(

Anyone else had this problem?!

Hi

Office does some non-standard things with EPS, including creating its own
previews in cases where it perhaps shouldn't. In some versions it then lets
you ungroup the EPS, something it *certainly* shouldn't allow. In the beta it
may have treated its manufactured preview image as though it were a graphic;
it shouldn't have, and perhaps someone noticed this and fixed the bug.

If an EPS contains only vector graphics and no preview, 2007 will generate a
vector preview image for it. You can ungroup the EPS and apply various effects
if you like.

Ungrouping will probably toss out any EPS content and leave you just the
PPT-created preview. That can be a good thing (it prints pretty much the same
on any PS or non PS printer) or a bad thing (the EPS content may well print far
better on a PS printer than the preview image).
