Word2000 - footer & Header are displayed incorrectly

Footer and Header information is missing and displayed incorrectly when
opening a saved document from a network share.

If you click on “File” “Open” and open a file from a network share the
footer and headers are missing and at the bottom of the document Word
add a bunch of stuff. Please see below.

But if you click on File then select the same document from the
recently open list, it will open and look normal with the footer and
header.

File -- Open ; change "Files of Type" from "Recover Text" to "Any File
*.*".
