Wrong as always...

LOL! Then why are the MSFT boys sending all the SP2 questions to the
PRIVATE group you mentioned?

Because that's where they want SP2 posts?

You are the only person I've read, since SP2 went RTM, trying to send people
to a PRIVATE group for the SP2 RCs. Not the MVPs, nor the MSFTs. Only you.

Why is that? Because this is a general group about all problems concerning
Windows XP, including SP2.

Because I think Microsoft should know about these bugs. These groups
(microsoft.public) are peer groups where people can ask about user
problems they are having related to their computers and MVPs or more
experienced users can help them solve those problems, they are NOT
places where Microsoft learns about bugs in their products.

Many of the problems with SP2 *are* bugs in SP2, not user problems,
they need to be reported to Microsoft and this news group is NOT the
way to do that nor is anyone here able to help with a product bug other
than to suggest a work-around if one exists. Bugs require patches or
updates be issued by Microsoft through Windows update and there will be
none unless MSFT is made aware of the bug.

However, it now appears that the microsoft.private.xpsp2 groups are to
be shut down and bugs should be reported to:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=fh;en-
us;Prodoffer80&sd=GN

(Notice there is no charge for SP2 bugs.)

Too bad, the private news groups were the best way to get MSFT to
notice problems.
