Word XP, Mail Merge, Hyperlinks and Forms Together

Mike

I have an application where I use a mail merge document,
protected in a form. I update the database and it is
reflected when I open the form. I now would like an new
Word document which is an index (menu) with hyperlinks
that open those forms that contain mail merge fields.
This works to a degree as when I click on the hyperlink,
my mail merge docuemnt protected as a form opens. The
problem is that my perodic changes to the database are
not reflected in the document. I can though do the
following when I update: open the document with a
hyperlink, unprotect the form, click the "ABC" to View
Merged Data, click it again, and my document then
reflects my database changes. By using the hyperlink
does Word not execute a command needed to query the
database? If there is not a solution, can anyone tell me
how to make a Word or otherwise menu that can be opened
by my users, and which directs my users to a document
similarly to a hyperlink?

Hi Mike,

I am not sure exactly what this system is being used for, but it sounds like
you should probably be using a UserForm.

See the article "How to create a Userform" at:

Please post any further questions or followup to the newsgroups for the
benefit of others who may be interested. Unsolicited questions forwarded
directly to me will only be answered on a paid consulting basis.

Hope this helps
