Word XP: Extra spaces in word documents

After printing a document there are extra spaces in words
(ex: th ere) in the document. How can I resolve this.

Take a look at KB article Q297680. I wonder if you have
left and right justified margins. The screen display can
look better than some printers' output. Try using simply
left justification.

This can also be an indicator of a faulty printer driver. You might update
your printer drive to see if that fixes the problem.

Something else to check is the "Do full justification like WordPerfect 6.x
for Windows" setting under Tools - Options - Compatibility. Also, you might
check File - Print - Properties to see if your printer has a funky setting
that might be producing what you're seeing. Another Tools - Options -
Compatibility that might conceivably be related is "Set the width of a space
like WordPerfect 5.x:"
