Word won't let me go to another page

I've used word a lot, and I've never had this problem. When I'm typing and
it gets to the end of the page, and it should go to the next page it just
won't go anywhere. I have no idea what to do. I'm using 2002

Try going to Format, Columns, click on the One Presets (even if it is already
selected), OK.
This sequence does seems to rest whatever has gone awry.
