Word to PDF with links

I have a word document with embedded links, am I able to PDF this file and
keep the ilnks working within the PDF document?

You don't mention the Word version you are using (alwaus helpful).
You need to change your PDF Convertion Settings. In 2003 and prior, clcik on
the Adobe PDF menu, clcik Change Conversion Settings, in the dialog you will
see several options, one of which is Add Links to Adobe PDF, check this, the
next time you PDF a file you will maintain your links.
If you have 2007, I am not sure where these commands are located but
hopefully the instructions above will help.

Do you use the 2007 PDF AddIn or do you have third party software.
The instructions I gave you apply to Adobe software, not the Office AddIn.
That I am not sure about.
Come back if you find or not find anything.

I'm not having much luck, work on a network server and guess it must be a
third party software as nothing in showing under Add Ins.
Can't find an Adobe Menu anywhere and have even tried going backwards
(starting in Adobe then saving from file) but still nothing.

It sounds like you are using the built-in PDF function that 2007 has, not
sure but this does not use the Adobe Software that you also have on your
system. Also not sure how you change the settings in this function.
If you are trying to create from Adobe software, what version are you using?
In mine, go to Edit, Preferences, Convert to PDF, Microsoft Office, Edit
Settings, check the box for Add Bookmarks and Links to Adobe PDF file.
The use the File, Create PDF, From File.

The question remains *how* you are creating PDFs? To create PDFs with
Acrobat from Word that have working links with display text that is not the
link itself, you need the extra functionality of the Acrobat add-in for
Word.

If you are using the Office 2007 PDF plug-in (which adds PDF to the Save As
options) then links should work.

If you are using third party tools then the availability of working links
will depend on the PDF driver.

Actually there are many other ways to convert Word to PDF except Adobe
Acrobat.

1. You just need to use a office add-on SaveAsPDF to save word as pdf
format.

2. You can also try some other ways to convert word docs to PDF free
and save the original links. this tips may help you:

The Acrobat Professional 6 add-in is not compatible with Word 2007
You could retain it for editing and viewing PDFs and use the PDF plug-in
from Microsoft to create the PDFs.
