Word template

Can anyone tell me why a (click to to enter text here) field in a Word
template appear taller than one line when selected in the document, but
correct height when un-selected? Is this a template thing?

What you see could be a result of the actual "Space before" and/or "Space
after" settings of the paragraph in question (Format > Paragraph). Added
space will be included when you select the field (or other text) whereas it
is not included in the shaded, unselected field.
