Word Style Has Changed

I am using Word 2000, and when I use word the font appears
in bold text (it prints as normal tho') even though 'bold'
isn't selected at the top. I find it very distracting and
want to revert back to regular text.

I have renamed normal.dot so that Word will create a new
one, yet the new normal.dot still uses the bold text.
Also, when I move down a line the first letter of each
line moves up slightly.

I'm baffled and any help will be most gratefully received.

Thias sounds like a screen driver issue. However does the problem occur if
you start Word from Windows > Start > Run with the command Winword /a ? If
it does then I would to check out the screen driver.
