Getting back to built-in heading styles in 2007

Daniel Schaffer

Hi,

I'm learning to use Word 2007 and I have modified the built-in heading
styles for purposes of using outline view. Now I'd like to go back and use
the built-in styles instead. What's the best way to get rid of my modified
styles?

I've thought of changing normal.dot to normal.old and letting Word create a
new normal.dot. Since I'm just starting out with Word 2007, I won't miss the
present normal.dot. Will this work?

Good luck, Dan

Thanks, Suzanne.

Why normal.dotm? I haven't constructed any macros yet.

You can see I'm just finding my way in 2007!

Gratefully, Dan

Because the global template is normal.dotm. If you have a normal.dot it is
legacy and it isn't being used.

Thanks for the explanation. I was expecting normal.dotx to be the global
template.
Good luck, Dan S

I can see why you would think that, but I guess because Normal is where
macros are saved by default, it has to be macro-enabled to begin with.
