word perfect files

Can anyone help me with a small problem please? I have some old Word Perfect
text files on floppy disk which I would like to convert into RTF files, but
I cannot open them in MS Word. And I cannot find directions in the help
files.
Any ideas please?

Don't even try to open them from the floppy. Copy to hard drive.

Whether Word will open them or not will depend on whether you have the
appropriate filter installed. If not, re-run setup from Windows > control
panel > add & remove programs and add the required text converter. With the
latest Word versions, this should install automatically if not present.
