My WP9sp3 works ok. Are you sure there isn't another
program interfering with the printer callup? Mine does take
about 10-15 seconds on the first time (any application) You
may need to register the spooler subsystem with you firewall
before it will work correctly. Also try entering the WP
application(s) themselves.
