Word Opening Problem

When I just tried to open Word from my desktop it says " Please wait while
Microsoft gathers information..." then it loads then it says I need a disk to
use Word which I don't have. So now I have no access to Word at all. I do not
have the disk for it either. Please help. Thanks

What happened to the disk? How did you get Word on your computer in the
first place?
