word is slow

When i use word ie typing a letter the hour glass keeps popping up every few
seconds and interupts my typing all my other MS programs appear ok
Using office pro 2003
 
You may have "Save auto-recovery info" set to a low number in Tools |
Options | Save.

If you have an 80286 chip, Word is especially slow, I've found.
