Word is Calculating the Word Count

At the bottom of any word document word continutes to display "Word is
Calculating the Word Count" every ten seconds or so.
 
Hi Ted,

I'm assuming you're referring to Word 2007? If so right click onthe Word status bar that displays the Word count and you can turn
on or off a number of displayed features.
