Using XP, IE6 and Word 2002. If you open a Word doc in
the browser window you do not get the Word toolbars until
you click the "tools" button on the IE toolbar. This
toggles the Word toolbar on and off.

Does anyone know how to make it default to ON? Or insist
that Word docs open with toolbars showing?

hi,

When you get a document and open it in the browser it
means that the document was opened from the server and
hence it means a read only file and cannot be changed.
This file must be saved to the local hard disk to be
edited. hence this logic of closing the toolbar.
