Word hangs when opening files - after Office Updates loaded

After installing a number of Office Updates, the system hangs for 3-5 minutes
when attempting to open Word files. I see references in the boards back in
April to uninstalling a particular update and waiting for a fix to come
shortly. Our update was completed in July. Was this fixed or do I uninstall
908531 and continue to wait?
