Word error msg

After I upgraded to XP home from 98 SE, upon opening any Word doc, I get the
"windows installer" msg, then an error msg from Norton - "Norton antivirus
does not support repair - uninstall and reinstall." Resolved the same
issues with Excel and Powerpoint by uninstalling and reinstalling Office
2000, but Word still will not open smoothly

I have uninstalled and reinstalled Office 2000 several times. I have
defragged, cleaned the disk, uninstalled and reinstalled Norton, and chanted
various voodoo phrases. Any suggestions?.

1) Please post the voodoo phrases in question so that other users will know
that they don't work for this particular issue.

2) In Word: Help > Detect and Repair.

Let Windows Installer run and install whatever Office component it is trying
to install.
