We are in the process of transferring from Windows 2000 with Office 2000 to
Windows XP with Office 2003. The problem is that we have a large quantity of
Word documents created in Office 2000 that do not open in Office 2003. I do
not know if it is a problem in Office 2003 or Wndows XP

The 2 versions use the same file format so there shouldn't be a problem if
the installations are done properly. Can you be more specific - What happens
when you try to open them? Are you attempting to open by double-clicking a
file icon or through Word's File>Open command? Is everything fully updated -
what Service Packs?

I first get a pop-up saying "Do you want to Open or Save this file", if I
click "Open" I get a message box asking "Do you want to Save this file?".
When I click "Save" I get the error message "Word was unable to read this
document. It may be corrupt...."
