Sometimes, when I try and create a new document in Word, with or without a
lot of cut and pasting of articles from the Web, I get a message that says
Word Cannot Create, File Check Temporary Work Environment.

At that point I save what I've done, but then a few sentences later in the
same document, it locks and I can no longer write in that document. ALL I
can do is close it, at which point I cannot reopen it again and my work is
lost forever.

Last computer I had did the same thing!! I do a lot of clip boarding of
articles from the Web. Computer guy before called it a "caching problem,"
but he couldn't fix it. Ultimately the computer just completely died.

Please help!!

it's hard to believe that the computer
died because word would crash. what's
a bit more difficult is that you encounter
the same problem with a newer system
as well.

do you get these kinds of errors if you
use word in safe mode too?

how much ram is installed?
what is your pagefile/virtual mem size?
what is the size of your internet temp folder?
