Whenever I have more than one word document open and I want to copy between
them, I experience a delay of five to ten seconds. I have reinstalled
Office, I have reinstalled XP and neither has fixed the problem

If you boot Windows in SAFE MODE, does the situation improve while you're in
Safe Mode?

Funny you should suggest that cause I didn't consider it. No, it does not
happen in safe mode. I would assume by this that you figure there is a
progam that it conflicts with?

That's the thought that occurred to me, yes. You should be able to take programs
that are automatically loading out of the start sequence (ask in a Windows NG, I'm
not an expert on this) until you track down the one that's interfering. These
days, the most common "culprits" for interfering with how Office apps work are
antivirus software (NAV Office Plug-in is infamous) and file managment systems.

I am running McAfee Enterprise on all of my computers and this is the only
one effected. I eliminated most everything from my start up and still it
occurs. I only have essentials, like zone alarm firewall, ad muncher,
spysweeper and my keyboard. Not much. I will eliminate those too, but I am
guessing it is elsewhere. Any place one can find a list of programs that
interfere?
