Word comments feature

Does anyone know if there is a limit to how many characters a "comment" can
have. I'm using the balloon feature for comments.

In Word? This is an Access newsgroup, not a Word newsgroup. I'd suggest
posting your question to a Word newsgroup. Or, better yet, use the built-in
help feature to see if you can find the answer, or test it. Just paste text
in until you get an error. If you paste in a string like "1234567890" you
can easily count as you do it.
