Word Attachments Opening with Picture Manager

I have a problem with opening Word attachments. This is new. I must have
done something. I use Windows XP. My outlook and all programs are 2007.
When I open a word document, all I get is the icon of Word. If I try to open
the attachment with preview, the document will "appear". I have never had
this problem until last week. Anybody help? Thanks
