Word and import of clipboard data

With previous versions of Windows and Word I could be in some other
application (maybe an Internet browser), send a text string or some other
data to the cipboard, open Word, import the stuff from the clipboard, and
continue in Word. Now I have to remember to open Word before I sent the
stuff to the clipboard. Maybe I'm an old dog, but I hate to have to remember
this new trick. Maybe there is some Word setting that I haven't activated?

I think (exphasis on Think) that you can open word after submitting to the
clipboard, and then go to Edit > Office Clipboard and paste the stuff in from
there.

Love to know if it works or not.

If your copy of Word came in the Microsoft Works Suite package, there is a
"Works Suite Add-In for Word" that's causing the problem. This bit of
malware should be uninstalled in the Start > Settings > Control Panel >
Add/Remove Programs dialog.

If you don't have Works, then look for other add-ins or macros that might be
clearing the clipboard as Word starts.
