We use local security policy on users machine to prevent them from using the
internet and lock down their PC's. With the exceeption of account policies
which are applied at the domian level on the DC. We lock users from using
the internet at all except for links on out intranet site. However their are
ways around this using office for example. IS their a way to prevent them
from using office to get out to the web.

Use a proxy server.

is their any other way than using a proxy server. By proxy server you mean a
server whose only job it to provide internet connection seperate from you
internal network. Your DC is actually poingting to the proxy to get out.
The clients think they are getting their info form the DC which is really
going out through another server and not direct to internet.

Yup, why should you allow the Workstations to see the Internet,
if you don't want them to access the cruell outside world.
