Word and Excel for Windows 95

I'm trying to use Word and Excel for Windows 95 on my newly acquired computer using Windows XP. Both programs have loaded okay but I cannot write to the CDrw.DVD combo drive. Can anyone help?
 
Cause you can't. No program can. Save to disk and burn on CD. CD are not read write disks.
 
Yr CDrwDVD has separate software for burning, 'writing' , to cd
